The exhibition showcases the historical Bendigo architectural builds of Bendigo LEGO® User Group members Darren Hutchesson, Michael Peebles, Brent Toma, Michael Piggott, my wife and Bendigo LEGO® User Group President Kara Harris and myself.

Here is a excerpt from the City of Greater Bendigo’s press release about the exhibition:

The Living Arts Space at Bendigo Visitor Centre is delighted to present Brick by brick: 10 years of building Bendigo, a new exhibition celebrating a decade of creativity from the Bendigo LEGO® User Group.

Founded in 2014, the Bendigo LEGO® User Group has grown to more than 100 members across central Victoria.

Since 2016, the group has hosted its popular annual Brick Show, attracting brick builders and enthusiasts from across Australia. Members meet monthly to collaborate, create and share ideas.

For Brick by brick: 10 years of building Bendigo, the members were inspired by the rich heritage history and iconic architecture in the region.

As well as the amazing builds by Michael, Darren, Kara, Michael and Brent you can also see my Charing Cross, Shamrock Hotel, Former Bendigo Fire Station, Sun Loong and my latest Bendigo architectural build, MacKenzie Quarters on display.

Brick by brick: 10 years of building Bendigo is open until August 19, 2026 (9am to 4.30pm daily).

Full steam ahead https://harrisbricks.com/2026/03/full-steam-ahead/ https://harrisbricks.com/2026/03/full-steam-ahead/#respond Sat, 21 Mar 2026 06:18:59 +0000 https://harrisbricks.com/?p=7205

With Brickvention 2026 well and truly out of the way and Bendigo Bricks 2026 pretty close to organised I am now feeling ready enough to set my sights on my major build for the year, I have told a few people about it as I have been planning it for quite a few years, and it is once again a revisit of a beloved theme from my childhood (with more than a little twist).

This time I am revisiting M-Tron, however I am going to dramatically reframe the theme in the Victorian era and give it a ‘steampunk’ make over. My new subtheme will be called M-Tron 1880.

The idea and I guess the reason behind the idea was an article I read about the theoretical possibility of the Victorians applying the technology available to them at the time, namely electromagentism, to propel a vessel into the upper atmosphere and achieve spaceflight.

You can pretty much see the spark of my idea from there as it is not too hard to get from electromagnetism to M-Tron: literally m (magnet) and tron (electron)).

I am still nailing down exactly what I will be building, but a Victorian era palatial tower of industry, a ship, various other vehicles are definitely on the cards.

I am looking forward to getting started!

Brickvention 2026 https://harrisbricks.com/2025/09/brickvention-2026/ https://harrisbricks.com/2025/09/brickvention-2026/#respond Mon, 22 Sep 2025 11:54:32 +0000 https://harrisbricks.com/?p=7108 Yesterday I was notified that my application to exhibit my new Neo Fabuland builds at Brickvention 2026 has been accepted!

Brickvention 2026 will run from the 17th to the 18th of January at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, it is Australia’s premier LEGO fan convention and the biggest show I have ever exhibited at (this will be my eighth time exhibiting, and my first time taking part as a fully fledged member of the Brickvention committee).

Now I just need to get everything finished in time.

No shipping to the United States https://harrisbricks.com/2025/08/no-shipping-to-the-united-states/ https://harrisbricks.com/2025/08/no-shipping-to-the-united-states/#respond Tue, 26 Aug 2025 02:29:04 +0000 https://harrisbricks.com/?p=7100 Last week I made the tough decision to switch off postage to the United States due to the removal of the deminimis $800 exemption.

Yesterday Australia Post sent out an email stating: “As a result of the recently introduced changes to the import tariff requirements set out in US Executive Order 14324, Australia Post has joined a number of international postal operators to temporarily suspend partial postal services to the United States (US) and Puerto Rico, effective immediately until further notice”.

Hopefully this is short lived and services will be reinstated. I hope to start selling to the United States again soon.
