The current LEGO Ideas’ contest is called 50 years of Dungeons & Dragons! where they are asking members to design builds inspired by Dungeons & Dragons with between 100 and 3,000 pieces which could potentially be turned into a LEGO set. I thought I would give it a go!

In my build, which I have named Domain of the Dracolich, I wanted to create a recognisable scene from a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, an ambush about to take place between skeleton warriors and the ultimate undead foe, a dracolich. Will our valiant heroes survive?

My build includes 1,099 parts and is primarily a display piece with the idea being that the builder could put their own characters and party into the scene. The dracolich itself is fully articulated and posable.

The six minifigures include a mage in the middle of spellcasting, a dwarven warrior with a battleaxe, a half-elf ranger with her trusty crossbow and three attacking skeleton warriors kitted out with shields, swords and a mace.

So, what do you think about my idea? Let me know by leaving a comment on the entry on LEGO Ideas.

Also, as I type this there are still 33 days left to submit entries to the contest, so if you want to submit a Dungeons & Dragons inspired build of your own, you should!
